I just wanted to share my two favorite summer songs thus far. They always put me in a great mood; for the beach, a drive, or getting ready. These are on permanent summer rotation.

Fancy Friday is here again….
My necklace is a Banana Republic necklace normally $99.50. I got it in a Consignment shop aka Thrift Store in Chicago, Buffalo Exchange, for $15.50. My top is Blue bird from Stahli; everything else is the same as listed below. I just bought this polish and I am quite fond of it but the name makes me cringe.
The Aldo Rise Collection is a collaboration between high end fashion designers and Aldo shoes. The designers include JW Anderson, Preen, and Mark Fast. Their collections were used in London’s Spring 2013 Fashion week and were available for purchase online. I ended up getting three pairs, and I was definitely ready to get more……

Finally attempted a Caviar Manicure and I love the way it looks. I even got compliments from the boys at work. It is time consuming and messy but relatively easy to do.
Once again it’s Fancy Friday. Theme: South Beach
It’s seems like polar opposites, south beach and work wear; but bright colors, interesting prints and costume jewelry made it pretty easy for everyone.
I finally attempted a caviar manicure (I posted about this a year ago…) and while it was a pain in the @$$, it turned out awesome. Well worth the effort. I wore subtle makeup in pinks to even out the bold print of the BCBG wrap dress, bright pink MAXSTUDIO wedges, and chunky ring and necklace.

At work some gentlemen mentioned we should get dressed up for work on Fridays. I naturally, gave it a name and ran with it #FancyFriday.
Generally I put zero effort into getting dressed for work (quite the opposite of any other time) unless I am teaching of course. My job is more about what you know, not how stylish you look. Fancy Friday is definitely fun, and a change of pace from what I typically wear to work.
The First Fancy Friday was last week. Theme: MADMEN.
The lace dress had an emerald green lining and I paired it with black and gold jewelry. To compliment the emerald, and to stay with the MADMEN theme, I had a bold red lip, accented by a shimmer red polish and red satin pumps. I think it’s bunched up in the photo because it definitely wasn’t that short in person.

It’s been awhile, I feel like every post this year has been me apologizing for being away. Life has been getting in the way, in a good way, but I promise I will have a post a week for the foreseeable future.
I was in Neiman Marcus the other day, and the bold colors and styles of all the summer shoes really had me excited. I will say BCBGMAXAZRIA has knocked it out of the park with their options. I hate paying full price, and almost never pay anything close to retail, so I am holding out a little longer. These two are my top contenders.

Everyone knows I have a sweet spot for R&B, illustrated by my love for Maxwell, Musiq Soulchild etc. I’ve heard great things about Frank Ocean’s album Channel Orange, and after listening to it I completely understand why. He’s a noteworthy songwriter that conveys true emotions in his songs……and a great falsetto gets me every time. He won a two Grammys this year, I’m pretty sure that means something
